Twin stopper to stop backward movement of ffb conveyor. In this photo, the conveyor is running normal, in forward direction (the conveyor is bottom carry so top chain move to the back and the stopper bars slide over the moving scrapper conveyor). As distance between scrapper bars is 3 feet, so maximum backward movement is 3 feet. The stopper installed today, 5th February 2010 on FFB conveyor feeding to crusher.
The stopper had been able to prevent sliding backward movement of the conveyor resulting collection conveyor to be able to run almost instantly after FFB conveyor start running. It prevent previous problem of feeding chute chokage at collection conveyor no. 2 feeding to FFB conveyor when backward sliding movement still occured to FFB conveyor. When the conveyor slide backward, it will only stop after a certain distance (about 20 feet) passing collection conveyor chute no. 2. When the conveyor start running again, it will immediately triggered collection conveyors to start as well. As there are full of FFb inside conveyor about 20 feet before passing collection conveyor no 2 feeding chute, yet feeding from collection conveyor is already started, the FFB conveyor may jammed with FFB at that feeding point. It will also jammed the collection conveyor no 2 as FFB is not moving at the end of feeding chute yet the conveyor keep on transferring FFB to the chute. The problem now is considered solved.
